Jesus said, “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.”John 15:12-17
The JW Men’s Ministry held a Fall Retreat. We had 15 men gather for an overnight in Conroe. Dr. Dunbar led the retreat and challenged the men to ask the question “Is your life story worth living and sharing?”
JW First Impressions Team welcomed welcomed 25 new members into our church on Sunday, October 28th. Yes, all on one Sunday. This brings the total for the year over 45 new members. Over the last 2 months we have baptized a half dozen people by the profession of faith.
JW Kids introduced a new staff member to the ministry team. This September we hired our new Emcee for the kids Large group. Darchell has been a great addition to our team and has already elevated our kids Sunday morning experience. Children’s and Youth Ministry also worked together to host a training session for our Small Group Leaders.
JW Youth ministry has seen a steady rise in our attendance for the Sunday Morning Experience, UMYF on Sunday nights and Bible Basics on Wednesday night. We have been averaging around 25 to 30 students on Sunday mornings and close to 20 for UMYF and steady 15 on Wednesday nights. Our LiL Dub-ers are inviting friends and we have seen some new families as well. There is a new attitude, on the third floor, of excitement and a willingness to let God move in and through JDub. The spiritual growth is showing through in the students wanting to learn more about what we believe and why. Their small group leader a saying that the questions they are being asked are deeper and more serious. God is growing JDub Student Ministries!
