Jesus said, “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.”Joh 15:12-17
The JW Kids Ministry had a Summer filled with amazing moments of ministry from VBS to Eat Play and Serve. They kicked off the summer with VBS! It truly was a fun week where kids learned that “God’s power has given us everything we need to lead a godly life.” 2 Peter 1:3. We are super proud to announce that the kids brought in $1,361.39 for our missions this week – Kenya and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This money will be used for two beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, one scholarship to the Trinity School in Gilgil, and a week of fruit for the school.
Our kiddos also had opportunities to serve at Brookdale Senior Living and delivered over 60 meals with Meals on Wheels. We ended the summer with a cook-out and pool party. Our kiddos have been filled with God’s love and ready for the new school year!
The Benchmark Project has generated $378,000 of additional funds to be used for growth over the next two years. A social media marketing firm has been hired with the funds. This is the first use of Benchmark money. There are several other ideas still in development which will impact JWUMC this Fall.
A more thorough report will be given as costs and ministry teams are fully developed in the next couple of months.
